Thorpe Eco has worked closely with the new owners of the Capricorn restaurant and bar for many years. This is their biggest project to date. The restaurant had been closed for several years. It was a local well known and well loved restaurant for generations. The challenge was to restore the restaurant and bring it into the 21st century.
Thorpe Eco’s role in modernising the restaurant and bar was to make it a pleasant, acclimatised place to eat, as the restaurant was known in the past for been a cold place to eat. The challenge was to introduce an even and controlled heating system to make the dining experience more enjoyable.
After discussions with the owners a decision was made to use a wet underfloor heating system to heat the dining area. As to not interfere with the decor or loose any more restricted head height a special kind of underfloor heating system had to be used in this unique underground restaurant. The underfloor heating pipe used in the dining floor was reinforced so the the minimum amount of liquid concrete could be laid over the top.
The controls of the underfloor heating system are Wi-Fi enabled, allowing the restaurant owners to control the temperature from any-where in the world, also the control stats are tamper proof which guards against any unauthorised adjustment.
With a multi zone high demand system Thorpe Eco has looked to the reliability and intelligence in the Sime Murelle. To minimize any risk of failure, Thorpe Eco have share the demand using 2 times 35kW commercial system boilers. These gas boilers come with a 5 year warranty as standard and the Thorpe Eco guarantee not to be without Heat or hot water for more than 24 hours.
